You might have noticed some changes
Long story short: when a magazine or journal pays you for a work of fiction or poetry, they're buying "first publication rights." Until recently, that meant that you'd get paid as long as it hadn't been put on paper for large-scale public consumption before. It seems the rules have changed.
These days lots of publications will check to see if the work you submitted is already online somewhere. If it's already online then, they say, they're not the "first publishers" and there's no reason to buy "first publication rights." If it's already online, I don't get paid.
Consequently I've decided to delete all the content on this blog. I'll probably still use it from here forward to document ideas and sketch out concepts, but fully formed excerpts & material will stay on my hard drive from here forward.
Thanks for all the feedback, guys. It's been appreciated.
